FAQ
When and where do you usually release your availability?
Contacting me through the "BOOK A SESSION" tab is the best way to find out my availability! Occasionally I will post them on Instagram or if I have a last-minute open spot. Generally, my available time slots are going to be on the weekends during golden hours (2 hours after sunrise and 2 hours before sunset) for regular outdoor sessions. By taking pictures during golden hours, we can make sure you have the best lighting for your pictures.
I am graduating in May (or Dec), when do you recommend me to book and have my session?
If you're a May grad, the best time to take photos is going to be late March to early May. If you're a Dec grad, the best time to take photos is going to be late Oct to early Dec.
I'd recommend to reach out and book your session as soon as possible though, so you can have more dates to choose from as my availability are first come, first serve.
Can I receive the RAW/unedited pictures?
No, you won't be able to receive the RAW/unedited pictures at the end, as my editing is part of my work too.
Remember, you do get to view them with a watermark on when you're picking out your favorites before I start editing the rest of them.
If you'd like to purchase additional edited images on top of what the packages have stated and what we have agreed on, please refer to the ADD-ONS section under the Pricing and Packaging page.
How do I choose which photos I want you to edit?
Photo Proofing is a process that allows you to choose the final images before I will make any work on them. This means that after our photo session is done, I will dump all images in an online gallery, and let you choose what you'd like me to work on.
My proofing process is very easy. You will choose them by marking photos as your favorites in the online gallery I sent you. When you view Favorites using the same email address, you will see the list that I have pre-created. Please add the final selected images to this list, and send them back to me when you are done!
When and how will I get my photos after the photoshoot?
Within 12 business hours after our photoshoot, I will upload all the raw/unedited pictures with my watermark on it to an online gallery that allows you to pick out your final selections to a Favorite List I have pre-created for you - this is how you will "proof" your photos. You will receive the link to this online gallery via email. I will also send you a quick note to make sure you receive my email.
After you send back your top picks, I will randomly select a few from that selection and provide sneak peeks. The goal of this is to make sure you're fine with the editing style and check if you have any specific feedback. You can even download them and post them on social media first if you want!
Once you give the sneak peeks a thumbs-up, I will start working the rest. Expect to receive all final edited images of your selections within 10 days after you send back your top picks and complete the proofing process.
Note: ideally, the sooner you let me know about your final selection, the sooner I can start working on them.
Lastly, once I am done with editing, you will be able to access, download, and even share your final edited images with others from the same online gallery. A separate email will be sent to you to notify you they're ready! I will also send you a quick note again to make sure you receive my email.
Can I bring any props to the photoshoot?
Yes! You're allowed and encouraged to bring confetti poppers, glitter, champagne, balloons, smoke grenade, you name it! Props can add some fun and color to your session! If you need any recommendations on what and where to get them, please reach out, I can help!
Can I bring my family, friends, or significant others to the senior/graduate photoshoot?
Yes, graduation is an important milestone of your life and you're absolutely welcomed to bring your family, friends, and S/O there. If anything, having a familiar face there sometimes can help you be more comfortable in front of camera too! Furry friends are also welcomed as well.
Disclaimer: However, if your friends, S/O, or family are also graduating and are expecting to get their graduation photos taken at the same session, please refer to the GROUP packaging and pricing for more details and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or unsure which package suits your needs. I am flexible and my goal is to meet your needs.
How long will I have access to my online gallery?
You will have access to it for 1 month after you receive the link to it. I recommend you to download the entire gallery once available. I will also send out a reminder before I take the gallery down.
What is a retainer fee* and why is there one?
A retainer fee is a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot for a session.
All photoshoots are not officially scheduled or booked until a 50% non-refundable retainer fee has been received upfront. The remaining 50% will be paid on the day of the photoshoot after we are done taking pictures.
For example: if you've selected the GRADUATION BASIC package, you will pay 50% of the [$300 + tax] = [$150 + tax] upfront, and the remaining [$150 + tax] will be due on the day of the photoshoot when we are done taking pictures.
There is a retainer fee because when you book a session with me, that means I have reserved that time for you specifically. If the shoot is canceled last minute (within 7 days before the scheduled date), it is hard for me to quickly find another client; on top of that, you could have possibly taken someone's spot when they also wanted the same time slot.
Therefore, I require a non-refundable retainer fee prior to the photoshoot. Until the payment is received, nothing is booked or set, that means your desired time slot is still available to other potential clients.
What are the payment options?
Accepting Credit/Debit cards, bank transfer, and cash (for in person payments).
Can I reschedule a session?
Yes, you can. I understand sometimes things come up that are unavoidable. Session reschedules must be at least a week (7 days) in advance and you must notify me by email. I will try my best to work with you and accommodate for your schedule!
What if I am running late to my session?
If you're running late, we will use the allotted time remaining in our session to make the most out of it.
For example, if our session is 5:30-6:30pm but you're running 10 minutes behind, the session will be from 5:40-6:30pm and still ends at the same time.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We all know weather can be unpredictable. If the weather is not looking too good on the day and time of your session, I will reach out and reschedule your shoot as soon as possible.
You can request a final decision to be made by me the soonest which is 24 hours before your photoshoot time or the latest which is 2 hours before your photoshoot time.
I always leave a few days available at the end of the month in case things like this happen.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I am based in Houston, Texas, but I am always down for a quick road trip to Austin, San Antonio, Dallas OR by plane to another state - you name it!
If you're based in locations outside of Houston, please check out the add-on section under the SERVICES > PRICING AND PACKAGING page for some examples!
Do you do retouching or use photoshop on photos?
I do not! I offer photo editing via Adobe Lightroom, that includes adjusting exposure, shadow, temperature, color tones - to make all photos achieve my particular style.
Retouching involves using Adobe Photoshop to manipulate an image. Basic retouch often covers removal of blemishes, fix a few stray hairs, or other out of place details. Extensive retouch can get complicated with such things as fixing clothing, removing braces, taking away body weight, fixing large pieces of hair, etc.
If you are wanting heavily edited images, I may not be the photographer for you and that's okay!
