Hi, thank you for your interest in SWJ's upcoming mini-sessions!


Please review all details listed under each section to fully understand what is included in each mini-session, such as pricing, headcount limit, location, final amount of images, pricing, and duration of the session. If you have pets and want to include them in the mini-session, some allow pets and some don't - please make sure to look through those too! Please also note that the photos you see below are for reference, the setup on the day may be slightly different.


Once you have decided on which session you'd like to book, please click on the link (which can be found at the bottom of each section) to select the time frame that works best for you and your family/friends/partner!


After you complete the sign-up via the link, you can expect me to reach out within 24 hours and send over the contract, invoice, and questionnaire. The contract must be signed, the questionnaire must be filled, and the retainer fee** (50% of the session fee) must be received within 48 hours after sent to secure your desired date/time and complete your booking. If those three items are not completed within 48 hours, the time slot you've selected will be opened up to others again.

Mini sessions FAQ:

What exactly is a mini session*?

A mini-session is a small version of a full photography session. It is most common during Fall and Christmas timeframe. It is most suitable for family and couples if your goal is to snag some quick photos and to send them out as holiday cards or do a quick annual family photo update.

Here’s a little overview:

A Mini-Session IS…
- 10-20 minutes long
- Stacked in a specific time block
- At a location that THE PHOTOGRAPHER chooses
- On a date that THE PHOTOGRAPHER chooses
- Includes a small amount of images


A Mini-Session IS NOT…
- Longer than 20 minutes
- A stand-alone session
- At a location that THE CLIENT chooses
- On a date that THE CLIENT chooses
- 30+ images included

15 min goes by so fast, I am worried I won't be able to get the pictures I want!

I completely understand that! 15 min may seems short, but on an average, I take around 70-100 photos within that time frame! I've ran over 15 rounds of mini sessions in the past two years and rest assure as long as you arrive on time, we will be all good to go! I will also have some prompts ready for you + I will be there to guide you, so you will be model on the day of the shoot! It will be fun and efficient!

What is a retainer fee** and why is there one?

A retainer fee is a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot for a session.

All photoshoots are not officially scheduled or booked until a 50% non-refundable retainer fee has been received upfront. The remaining 50% will be paid on the day of the photoshoot after we are done taking pictures.

For example: if you've selected the FALL MINI 2 package, you will pay 50% of the $180 = $90 upfront, and the remaining $90 will be due on the day of the photoshoot when we are done taking pictures.

There is a retainer fee because when you book a session with me, that means I have reserved that time for you specifically. If the shoot is canceled last minute (within 7 days before the scheduled date), it is hard for me to quickly find another client; on top of that, you could have possibly taken someone's spot when they also wanted the same time slot.

Therefore, I require a non-refundable retainer fee prior to the photoshoot. Until the payment is received, nothing is booked or set, that means your desired time slot is still available to other potential clients.

How will I know if my session is confirmed?

After you complete the sign-up via the link, you can expect me to reach out within 24 hours and send over the contract, invoice, and questionnaire. What if I need to reschedule/cancel my session?

Reschedule: Reschedule requests for mini sessions must be made 7 days prior to the mini session date. It also depends on if there is any other availability left.

Cancellation: If you unfortunately need to cancel your session, the 50% retainer fee** will be forfeited and released to SNAPS WITH JOY unconditionally.

What if the weather is bad? What if it rains?

This is only applicable to outdoor sessions. If the weather is not suitable for shooting the day of, the mini session will be canceled and the 50% retainer fee** will be refunded as well.

Indoor sessions will still go on.

Am I allowed to book multiple sessions?

Please do not select multiple time slots of the same session just to hold it, the system will recognize your attempt and all your reservations will automatically be canceled.

I am a repeating client, do I get any discounts?

Yes! Thank you for your interest in working with me again! Just like regular sessions, repeating client will automatically receive 10% off upon booking!

What does "Add-on Edited Images Option Available" mean?

Each mini session comes with a set amount of pictures with the listed price. However, if you're interested in purchasing more after the photoshoot and after you review all the RAW photos, there is an option to do. The pricing for add-on images are as follow:
Every 5 images - $15.
Every 10 images - $25.
Every 15 images - $35.
Every 20 images - $45.
Every 25 images - $50.
(Tax not included)

How come some of the sessions allow pets, and some don't?

As much as I'd love to work with your furry friend, unfortunately some of the venues/shoot locations do not allow pets on premise.

When will I know the actual photoshoot location?

You can find the zipcode for each mini session listed above for reference. The exact locations and parking info will be sent one week prior to the photoshoot date.

What time should I show up to the photoshoot?

You're required to arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to your session start time to check in with my assistant depends on which one. Please make sure to allocate time for traffic and to find parking as well. If you show up later than your session start time, then we will use the allotted time left. One week prior to the mini session date, you will receive an email from me with more details on logistics.

Do you offer prints?

Yes! I will be offering print options and you can order them directly from the gallery when your photos are done! Printing option include regular photos, wall arts, and holiday greeting cards too!
